Road shoes is fine. As the run progressed the little inclines got longer and steeper. Banter was good

Thanks for the review / banter Andrew!

Lee Pullen

Great event for stacking up miles

The 5km ish route is perfect for beginners or experienced runners. It allows runners to leave everything at the start point so you don’t need to carry a thing. Proper toilets available too. The forest path is very quiet. It’s a well compacted sand and gavel path which allowed us to run in road shoes. Very friendly organisers a marshals. The route is so simple they don’t even need a marshal at the turn around point

Organiser comment:

Hi Lee, so glad you enjoyed it, great to meet you. Proper loos etc at the clubhouse is indeed handy. We're aiming to have a marshal @ the turn point for a period while runners orientate themselves on the early laps AND perhaps more importantly, to give encouragement & keep the vibe going! Thanks for the review & see you soon.

“I run the marathon 'til the very last mile” (Beastie Boys, Intergalatic 1998)

Really enjoyed this event, my first with Long Player Running!
From pre race information to organisation on the day, these guys made it a really well run event.
The Run Directors Ruth and Simon were really personable and kept a really positive, motivating vibe going for each return and departure across that line!
I came for a marathon, did it, can’t walk well today but will definitely be back for another event with them!
Best thing at the aid station were the tinned peaches

Organiser comment:

Thanks Andrea; we agree, tinned peaches are GOOD! So glad you enjoyed our first event with us; see you soon :)

Matthew Bewley

Very entry level friendly ultra/marathon/half

Great team and great aid station. The overall vibe of the race is friendly with runners passing each other often. It doesn’t have any sort of overly competitive feel to it which is a welcome change o
To other evens.

Thanks Ben. Congrats again for your marathon; excellent!

Vic Martin

Loved it

Wonderful staff and marshalls, everyone friendly and helpful. Good route (I like a few more hills though, but thats just me!)
More signage! Particularly on the roundabout from the A31 and through the housing estate (my satnav completely lost the plot so a couple of signs would have been helpful). Same on the route, a bit more signage please

Thanks for the review and comments Vic. Great running yesterday. We are mindful of minimising plastic waste with single use cable ties (we are looking into alternatives) however will bear this in mind for future events at this location. If it is elevation you like then give Something To Talk About a try!

Fabulous marshals and a lovely route. Excellent aid station and a loo ❤️

Thanks Sarah, we strive to be as inclusive for all runners / plodders as much as we can. The 'safe space' is important to us. Glad you took advantage of our very flexible start times to ensure you could complete your marathon. Well done :)
