Our pop-tastic HOT-TO-GO events take in the summer sights and sounds of the wonderful Hurn Forest. Starting at Hospital Services Cricket Club, this route follows a new trail through the forest. With a Lazy Sunday laid-back 10am start on a warm morning, participants can choose between a 5 or 10 mile distance & still be home in time for Sunday lunch! The event will have a unique pop-themed playlist & medal.
Trail shoes are not essential as the track is hardstanding and well maintained. It's a pop music-themed run, so the emphasis will be on F-U-N. Pop attire is encouraged (not mandatory!), so expect to see lots of leg warmers, pom-poms, tutus etc. Ideal for bringing your besties or running buddies for a fun morning run
20% of entry costs will go to Forestry England to support maintenance of the nation's forests and trails.
We are assisting the Cricket Club in fundraising for a defibrilator on-site. Please consider a donation on entry or through a small donation on the day (collection box in the pavillion).
We will have our Run DMC (aid) station at the start/finish of each lap, offering a wide range of sweet & savoury snacks & drinks, including (you guessed it) fizzy pop! Please note we are cupless & do not provide plastic cups; please bring your own. Bag drop & toilets are available inside the cricket club, along with hot drinks (donations to the Cricket Club defib fund are appreciated); bring your own mugs.
Minimum age for our 5 mile event is 16 years and for our 10 mile event is 17 years.
Number pick-up is at race registration before you start the event. Registration is from 9.15am. Final instructions will be sent out via email before the event with full information.
Laps are a 2.5 mile, out and back, course. This is a brand new route through the forest, so differs from our Starburster & Intergalactic events. The 5 mile event is one lap and the 10 mile event is two laps. Cut off is 1PM (3 hours).
This event is licensed by the TRA and will be run under UKA rules.
Where possible we encourage all runners to utilise public transport or car share.
Please car share if at all possible. Parking is very limited near start / finish area. A public car park is available on Boundary Lane (0.4 miles from start).
Morebus offer a bus service to the area; nearest bus stop is St. Leonard's Hospital.
Nearest train stations are Bournemouth and Branksome (both 8.1 miles from start).
