Ohm my, Watt ever next? A electricity-themed running event for the volts that will see runners plug in, stay grounded & light up their day with a high-voltage running experience!
Electric Avenue takes place on the trails of Ringwood Forest, in Verwood, Dorset. Starting in The Chase, participants will power along Electric Avenue - a 1 mile stretch of architecturally impressive electricity pylons & then charge out onto smaller trails in a 4.4 mile (7.1 Kilometres) out & back lap. Ringwood Forest offer a peaceful mix of firm trails, pine plantations & purple heathland along the Dorset & Hampshire border, with plenty of interest for nature lovers & trail runners alike. The trails are suitable for all abilities, and the 'out and back' route, combined with a generous 7-hour running window, gives participants the freedom to generate their own mileage. Whether you're conducting a gentle 7K, amping things up to a half marathon (3 laps), powering through a full marathon (6 laps), or taking things to ultra levels, you'll be in complete control of your load. All finishers completing one lap or more will receive a fabulous Electric Avenue-themed medal that's guaranteed to really spark your interest.
This event has a flexible, alternating start time between 8am & 9.30am. Just turn up when you're powered up & ready to flow with the current. All runners to finish by 3pm (maximum 7 hours). Number pick-up is on the day at race registration before you switch on and set off.
We'll have our shockingly good Run DMC (aid) station at the start/finish of every lap to keep your batteries topped up. Expect a fully loaded circuit of drinks, sweet treats & savoury snacks to help prevent any power outages mid-run. There will also be an area where you can leave your kit, reconnect with fellow runners & recharge between laps. Please note that we are cupless and do not provide plastic cups, so please bring your own vessel to avoid causing a short circuit in your hydration plans.
Toilet facilities will be provided at the start/finish area.
Final instructions will be sent electronically before race day with all the details you'll need to stay on track and avoid any last-minute resistance. The course consists of a 7.1km (4.4-mile) out-and-back lap with approximately 125-ish feet of elevation gain per circuit.
